Day 2 was an even bigger day than Day 1. We drove into downtown instead of taking the "L" Train because after hitting the Museum of Science and Industry we headed over to the Brookfield Zoo. There was a lot of walking involved on a very hot day but we still had a good time :)
The hubby wanted to make sure that we arrived at the Museum of Science and Industry right when it opened because he knew that we could spend all day there and that we still needed to head to the Zoo when we were done. So, we headed off bright and early and were rather surprised by the lack of traffic on our way in to the museum. There was so little traffic in fact that we arrived about an hour before the museum opened. Since we had time to kill, we wandered around and enjoyed the architecture. The Dr. Who Angels (Don't Blink) were there to greet us along with various gargoyles and other adornments. Can we say knitting pattern inspiration???
I don't think any of the bike seats look very comfortable...
Shortly thereafter, we met up with the hubby's Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin at the Brookfield Zoo. It was hot and humid, people were all around, and the zoo was vast, but we persevered and had an enjoyable time looking at everything. We were even able to catch a short Dolphin Show.
One of the bears even got out of the water to come over to where we were standing at the time, drop a deuce, and then return to the cooler water. ;)
Though it was a short vacation, we all had a great time and we were very happy that we could hang out with family while we were there. The minions are already looking forward to their next trip in! For any interested parties, there are more pictures in my Flickr Set. I should have some actual knitting content next post :)
