We drove in in the evening so we had a full 2 days to play. The hubby and I introduced the minions to the "L" Train system and little man took right to it. He took to it so well in fact that one of the locals took notice and actually made a point to tell me so. We started off with the Field Museum and then headed over to Shedd Aquarium. My favorite exhibit of the trip was at the Field Museum - they had a nice exhibit on the Ancient/Early Americas and I loved checking out all of the beadwork and woven textiles and things. I even found a few knit articles! Little man was excited to see the "real Sue" in person and enjoyed all the bugs.
Shedd Aquarium was packed which made it really hard for the minions to see anything (let alone take a clear picture of anything), but we managed the best we could.
It was a successful first day. There is so much to see downtown; each corner houses a different surprise. After hitting the museums we meandered around the area a bit, seeing what we could see. I also couldn't help notice ideas for knitting patterns wherever I looked.

Looks like a successful, busy first day. Did you eat at Potbelly? It's delicious!
