Warmth and Color

In honor of the fact that both minions are feeling a bit better, the three of us headed out to the Botanical Center earlier today.  It has become an unofficial tradition of sorts to head there during the minions' Spring Break; after a long cold Winter we are all in dire need of warmth and color but we hold off going until this time of year because the Botanical Center has special Spring Break activities there for the kids so the minions also get to create some new crafts and things.  Over the years, I have learned that it is best to go on the last day of the aforementioned Spring Break activities because the crowds are considerably smaller so we get to take pics without fighting large groups of people and/or strollers.  It's win win. 

 

Ah, can you feel the humidity?  We were actually sweating by the time we left and both minions were complaining that they were "getting too hot" but it was worth it.


Orchids are so fun to look at - they are the aliens of the flower world I think. 

Both minions were rather opinionated when it came to what "I needed to take a picture of".  Little miss was into the flowers and the little lamps and things

 

while little man was more into the leaves and cacti this year. 

 

Me, I love it all, especially various colors and textures that can be found.

We did meet one fellow that wasn't very impressed, at least not by us.  It was clear that he had better things to do than stare at us.

There weren't as many fish there this year, and not all of the exhibits were open because they were doing some construction here and there but it was still a fun time to be had.  Plus I was able to take some shots of the upcoming Snow White pattern so stay tuned for that!

In other news, little man will be going back to bifocals.  It still seems so odd to me to have a little guy wear bifocals but if they help...  He has been going to the eye doc at least once or twice a year with changes each time so the hope is that the bifocal lenses will help his eyes stabilize and not hurt him as much.  Fingers crossed...  Little miss is enjoying her dance classes and little man's baseball coach emailed us today so we will be entering into that chaos again shortly.  Now if the weather would just cooperate and warm up a little bit...
