Late Summer, Early Autumn

Toward the end of Summer, the hubby and I took the kids to the Omaha Zoo.  It was packed.  It was a long, hot day to be sure!

Little man got in a bit of fishing at the lake :)

Summer's end was upon us before we knew it and back to school means Back to School Socks.

In my spare time (ha!) I have been working on multiple patterns - some for the new Fantastic Beasts movie and some for Winter. This is the Thunderbird pattern - currently listed for free on Ravelry. I have 3 others in the works, I just need more hours in the day to try to get everything accomplished.

I love worsted weight socks for Winter and I wanted to use up some of my Au Naturel Yarns because they are so soft adn lovely once knit and washed.  This is a worsted-weight pattern that is available in the Addicted to Knitting ezine and will be available for purchase in the Spring.

Autumn was glorious this year - the warm temperatures lasted up until, well, today is still rather nice out! This meant that the Fall Soccer Season was much more enjoyable than it has been in the past :) The girls played hard this Season and learned a lot - this was our first experience with official off-sides and they did well.

As for knitting content, I am going to have to take a little time and figure out what I have shown and what I haven't but I can post this FO photo - it was a shawl I gifted to my Grandma H for her birthday :)  It is the Terra Pattern from Brooklyn Tweed.  It was so big and squishy!  More will be made :)

He was living on our gas grill for some reason.  We found him a more picturesque abode.

Since the weather was so nice, my FIL thought it would be a good idea to take a walk around the lake (approx. 7 or 8 miles I think) and pick up trash.

He, little man, and I set off on our excursion and made it more than 3/4 of the way around before we had enough.

We ended up picking up quite a bit of garbage during our excursion.

When I had finished little miss' green vest, I had meant to create more patterns using the stitch pattern and I lost my notes!  This Fall, I happened across them and decided to set about creating a series of accessories using the cable pattern.  The fingerless mitts pattern has been released and there will be a hat pattern and a few cowl patterns released using this cable panel as well - once I find time to finish everything up!

Over the Summer, my niece informed me that I needed to make her a "big red sock".  So I did.  I flipped through a few stranded books for inspiration and came up with a stocking pattern for my niece and nephew.  I have the yarn for my SIL and BIL's stockings but they have to wait until next year ;)

There has been more activities and more knitting and I am hoping to download more photos from my phone and camera before too long so I can get completely caught up with our recent activities but at least I am sort of close now! With my work schedule and family stuff and my Dreams in Fiber stuff, I have obviously not gotten on the blog very regularly at all. So, if you want more up-to-date photos and updates, follow me on Facebook (Erica Lueder) or Instagram (Dreamsinfiber. Have a great Holiday Season :)
