Each picked out the yarn they wanted me to use and I have a healthy amount of yarn left in each skein that I'm not sure what I'll do with yet, but it will get used up eventually! If my memory is correct, his was Austermann Step and hers was an Opal.
Both minions were a bit apprehensive about starting school this year. I know each will do well but the fear of the unknown is a big fear especially when school is involved. I remember quite vividly the unease of the day before school started - what will my days be like, will I like my teachers, will my friends be in the same classes as me, what if... I am happy to report though that both minions came bounding out of school with big smiles on their faces and they each had "A Great Day!" I can't believe they're already in 1st and 2nd grade - respectively speaking.
Now that those socks are out of the way I have dug out some other WiP's that were put on hold. With any luck, I will have another FO or two finished in the very near future.
What I do have though, is a photo of the first batch of purple hats that I will be donating to my hospital. :D
10 were knit by Lindsay, 3 were knit by Krysten, and 2 of them are mine. I'm pacing myself....
It's been a weird couple of months. It seems as though there has been a constant stream of stuff going on and I feel unsettled; I am a hobbit by nature and I crave a routine of some sort and I've been without that for a good chunk of time now. So, I am working on finding my new normal. Between the minions' school schedule, my work schedule, the exercise program that the hubby and I started this past Monday (man is my body yelling at me right now!), yarn Clubs and near-future shop updates, Holiday knitting, designing, and the annual "It's Autumn so I need to purge/clean/organize the entire house" itch, (and I'm sure I'm forgetting other things), something must be done. I will do my best to post regularly but I need to hunker down and bust some ass as to clear some out of my Queue so I can take a deep breath or two. Maybe it will get my mind off how strangely quiet the house is during the day without the minions!

Cool little socks. I love the ankle sock for kids. I'm going to try that one out. Do you construct them the same as a big sock - just shorten the leg part?
I am looking forward to routine, too.
Glad to hear the first day went well for both of them. We'd intended to call to get the scoop, but poor attitudes from both littles prevented that. Enjoy your alone time...even it means cleaning.
Love how her anklets (somewhat) match the backpack!
