Happy Valentine's Day!

All I had to do yesterday was sit down to take some fiber-y photos and the minions came out of the woodwork! Talk about a weird mood! There are more photos on my Flickr page, but here's a few of them.

My MIL is a Crocheter like I am a Knitter. I can crochet, but I am nowhere near being a Crocheter... The kids have developed a fondness for Spongebob Squarepants. I know. Anyway, per little man's request, she whipped them up some figurines and the minions wanted to make sure they had their photos taken too ;)

Here's the RS of my Knitting Olympics project. I'm farther than this now, but you get the idea. The yarn I am using is some of my hand dyed Merino/Nylon Superwash Sock yarn in Norse and Shadow and gray.

I was trying to get away with not dyeing anything for this project but there was just not enough contrast between Norse and Shadow by themselves so I whipped up a quick gray to tie things together. It's not the most contrasty mitten in the world but that's just fine by me. I haven't done stranding with fingering weight before (only worsted) so this was my little swatch/try it out project for some of my other future stranded projects!

In case you missed it in the above photos of little miss, she is sporting the first of her Valentine's Mittens. The second is on the needles now. I love knitting for my minions and am always amused when I hand them the first mitten or sock of the pair because I get an immediate "well, where's the other one? I need one for this hand/foot too!"

This is little man's Valentine's Sock. Again, all I have left now is the toe and I'll have a finished sock, but you get the idea. This is in my Norse colorway too, though a lighter version - I've tweaked the colorway to make it a bit darker now.

That's all I have for you at the moment, must get back to my projects. Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

First of all, the sponge bob dolls are a total riot! I thought Sponge Bob was so dumb, until I sat down and watched an episode. Now the whole family adores Sponge Bob.

Your knits and yarn are absolutely GORGEOUS! And the pictures of your little ones are precious. I can't wait to see your finished projects. . .
