Hooray for Autumn!

I got up this morning and turned on the Weather Channel. High 59. Lovely. Then this woman from Chicago came on the TV for one of their interviews and she spouted off how she "hates the colder weather" and she "doesn't want to get out of bed" and "it's to dark..." Well Chicago lady, too bad. I love fall. I've always loved fall. I love the crispness, I love the sounds of leaves crunching under my feet, no humidity means I can actually dry my hair straight and not have to worry about enduring some form of a random/frizz/curl thing the rest of the day... Not to mention it's perfect knitting weather :)
Speaking of knitting, I have managed to get a little work done. One green sock down, one to go... And I am just about finished with the gusset on the purple sock after my little mini-session last night while hubby was playing games on the computer. Wanted to add a splash of color this morning so I thought I would include this flower shot. Actually I was just wondering if someone could tell me what kind it was, but it is kinda colorful :) I'll throw in another view of it so you can get a better idea.

i love fall, too, even though i am a person who is always cold. the freshness of the season, the vividness of the colors, and the cahnce to wear wool are all things i love!
i don't know what the flower is—maybe some kind of clematis? it's really pretty though!
