Once we arrived, the hubby and my FIL made themselves right at home.
Little man broke in his new boots and was delighted that his feet were staying dry while walking in the pond. "These work great, Mom!"
Until he got in a little too deep that is...
Little miss had fun walking around as well, though I think the highlight for her was the residing feline, A.
There I was, the boys were fishing, little man was getting dirty somewhere, little miss was chasing the cat, and my MIL was relaxing. Time to go wander myself. P's place is very organic with fun touches of whimsy thrown in for good measure. Here are some random shots.
Did I mention P also runs a greenhouse?
The hubby and my SIL K came here when they were the minions' age and it would appear that some things never change - or are definitely passed on from generation to generation.
Before dinner, we headed out for one of the nature trails.
Little miss wasn't too excited about Grandpa H getting in her shot. So she retaliated with her impression of "an old man".
If you look closely, you can see a few train cars in the distance that fell off the tracks many many years ago.
I went in for another look and came across a few deer standing right at the train car site.
The hubby, little man, and I went on a walk the following day to get up-close and personal with the train cars. Little man was excited to grab some coal and found a few frogs in the process.
It was a good time and we will go again. Thanks, P, for letting us come out and play! Here are a few other random shots.
